Innovation in tech does not only happen in Lagos. Contrary to opinion of many that the Northern part of Nigeria are not known for tech innovation two male students from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria and a female student from University  of Abuja, formed a team and innovated an IoT (Internet of Things) solution that can be used at homes with normal appliances. They made history by winning the competion in Nigeria and representing the country in Dakkar, Senegal.

The stepping stone for these individuals was the Startup Arewa Community, that created an enabling and supportive environment for them to participate at the Pan-African Robotics Competition (PARC).
