Startup Conference Kaduna 2018 is the flagship initiative of StartUpPlus Africa in Nigeria’s northern region. Startup Conference Kaduna 2018 will host entrepreneurs in and around the Kaduna startup ecosystem to discuss critical issues of profitability confronting businesses, and to proffer practical solutions to them.
The conference curated by StartUpPlus Africa, and currently in its 6th edition, and on tour around major cities across Nigeria, will gather more than 1,000 entrepreneurs on Saturday, September 22nd 2018 to discuss the theme: CASHFLOW – becoming profitable.
Adeleke David Adekunle, Founder and Executive Director of StartUpPlus Africa said, “Startup Conference Kaduna 2018 is a first step towards bridging the gaps in the development of businesses in the north. We know that a lot is happening in terms of equipping entrepreneurs with tech skills and more, but we need to emphasize the importance of empowering entrepreneurs to build sustainable businesses. That doesn’t happen by chance; it’s a skill that must be learned. That is what we seek to achieve with Startup Conference Kaduna 2018.”
“Since 2014 when we held the very first edition, there have been two significant themes – the unusual set of panelists we host at the conference and the ‘no fees’ access which eliminates the entry barrier and participation for entrepreneurs of all sizes,” said Adeleke David Adekunle, Executive Director of StartUpPlus Africa.
The conference will debut in Port Harcourt and Calabar cities later this year, 2018.
At Startup Conference Kaduna 2018, there will be in attendance, senior officers of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and the Kaduna Internal Revenue Service (KIRS) on a panel discussion. The conference will also host an uncommon set of speakers including Aisha Kwaku (CEO, Aisha Kwaku & Associates), Andrew Agbo Abu (President, Young Innovators of Nigeria), Mahmood Yakubu (General Manager, Nishadi.tv), Aisha Amoka (Coordinator, Brainiacs Women in STEM), Daser David (CEO, nHub), Sanusi Ismaila (CEO, CoLab), Yusuf Bashir (Co-founder/CEO, KAD ICT Hub) and Mohammed Ibrahim Jega (Founder, Startup Arewa & Director, VoguePay).
Professor Muhammad Tanko (Vice Chancellor, Kaduna State University), and Adeleke David Adekunle (Executive Director, StartUpPlus Africa) will each deliver a keynote address.
The faculty from previous editions include notable players Olumide Ogunade (aka ID Cabasa; Ace Music Producer and Founder, Coded Tunes Africa), Kola Oyeneyin (Founder, Venia Hub), Olusegun Olukoya (Director, Lagos Angel Network), Abimbola Adebakin (Former COO, Tony Elumelu Foundation; now Founder, My-Medicines.com), and Bunmi Davies (Event Manager of Alibaba’s January 1st Concert & Founder, Afrotainment), among others.
